Your shoe width
to find the perfect-fitting shoe

Even with the correctly selected shoe size, it often happens that your foot slips around uncomfortably inside the shoe and lacks support. Or your toes are squeezed from the sides, which severely restricts your freedom of movement in the shoe. To counteract this, shoe width plays an important role even before you buy. It determines the stability and comfort of the shoe.

Shoe width indicates the volume of the foot around the ball and toes. It is best to measure shoe width in the evening, as feet expand by a few millimeters over the course of the day. Stand barefoot on the floor and use a tape measure to measure the widest part of the front of your feet. Wrap the tape measure once around the ball of your foot to easily determine your foot volume. Shoe width determines how much space you need in the toe area and which shoe shape you should choose.

Fußdeformationen - Die Folgen zu enger Schuhe

Shoes that are too tight cause the toes to be compressed and cramped. This can quickly lead to discomfort and pain during everyday activities. The toes are important sensors and provide the body with stability and balance. With the right footwear, the anatomical balance of the spine helps prevent poor posture, relieves pressure on the intervertebral discs, and protects the joints. The illustration shows how the feet can retain their natural barefoot shape in BÄR shoes. Your feet will thank you!

Foot deformities – The consequences of shoes that are too tight
With so-called hammer toes or claw toes, the toes are compressed in the front of the shoe and become misshapen. After some time, they may no longer be able to return to their original position. Other misalignments of the feet, such as splay feet, flat feet, or overpronation, can also contribute to this. The pressure points that develop inside the shoe often cause corns, which can be painful. Finding suitable shoes also becomes increasingly difficult because the shoes become too tight around the toes.
