What to look for when buying shoes

Worauf Sie beim Schuhkauf achten müssen
At BÄR, we naturally pay close attention to your individual foot shape – whether your feet are narrow or rather wide, whether you already have individual changes such as bunions or hallux valgus, or whether they are still naturally shaped. We also consider the time of day when you buy your shoes. Feet are generally wider and slightly longer in the evening than in the morning. So if you try on shoes in the morning and they are already tight in length and/or width, we add half a size so that your shoes will still fit comfortably in the afternoon and evening. If you have scheduled your shoe purchase for later in the afternoon, your feet will generally have reached their maximum circumference (length and width), making it easy to decide whether the size is right. In the morning, you will have a little more room in the shoes (which you can adjust perfectly with the laces), but the BÄR philosophy of never constricting the feet, but enjoying Toe freedom from morning to night, is upheld.
This naturally applies to purchases in our stores, but also to catalog customers. They actually have it very easy, because they can try on the shoes at home in peace and quiet both in the morning and evening. If you follow the advice above, you will find the perfect size for yourself.
Important: Don’t cheat. It isn’t worth it. You are the one who suffers (in the truest sense of the word). And, addressed to the ladies: A half size smaller (for the sake of beauty) is not noticeable from the outside, but the beautiful, balanced shape of our BÄR shoes already makes your feet look smaller. Take a look at yourself from the side in the mirror. Right?
Yours,
Hilke Bär
P.S. What experiences have you perhaps already had?
